Overview
of Responsibilities ·
Creating
extremely detailed RF coverage maps based on network information and drive test data using in-house developed tools and software · Troubleshooting
radio prediction performance · Working
with the Engineering organization to create requirements that ensure software
tools and products are of the highest quality and meet current needs ·
Working
with the Research organization to ensure current and future improvement
concepts are evaluated ·
RF
map and PSD production based on the contracted deployment schedules and
customer agreements are met ·
Leading
troubleshooting efforts for customers and work with Development teams for quick
fault resolution
·
Maintaining
current knowledge of relevant emerging technologies and support the company in
R&D planning
·
Providing
system support to product marketing and product development
Qualifications
·
Minimum
of 5 years experience working for a GSM or UMTS carrier and/or Wireless
infrastructure vendors, and/or RF planning tool vendor
·
Experience
with RF planning tools, deep understanding of network design and optimization
concepts, link budget, drive testing and post processing
·
Good
understanding of RAN network architecture and overall understanding of
deployment process
·
Experience
with location technologies deployment, system integration, and ability to
design location technology solutions for carriers
·
Experience
with Cellular (GSM & UMTS) protocols, especially layer 2
·
Very
good understanding of various wireless standards such as GSM and UMTS at both
radio and network interfaces, including system architecture
·
Experience
with Unix and MATLAB
·
Good
understanding of operations and admin tools for network elements
·
Excellent
verbal and written communication skills – ability to prepare and present
comprehensive presentations to customers at all levels
·
Excellent
interpersonal, leadership, organizational and project management skills
·
Ability
to succeed in a dynamic work environment ·
Ability
to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities
